Start Litter-picking!

Improving your natural environment is good for everyone’s health and helps to improve community pride in a local area. Litter picking in groups helps to strengthen connections across a community and can be a fun and social activity to do with friends or neighbours.

If you’d like to make a difference in your local community, and set up.a litter-picking group, get in touch and we’ll help you every step of the way: litterpicking@cleanupuk.org.uk

2022 Opportunity for new groups in the North of England

CleanupUK has secured funding to support the setup of 15 new litter picking groups across the North of England, in badly littered urban areas. In past projects, our groups have seen potential in their local areas, have brought their communities together, and improved their natural environment.

CleanupUK can offer you:

·       1:1 support via phone or video chat – we will support you every step of the way

·       Access to litter picking equipment

·       Advice, resources, templates

·       Help developing and delivering a promotional ‘launch’ litter pick in your chosen area

·       Promotional support including social media content and promotional material design to attract other litter pickers

To register your interest, you need to:

·       Be someone who would like to engage people in positive community action across a local area which is badly littered or neglected.

·       Have at least one ‘person on the ground’ – someone in the local areas who is willing to work with us in setting up a group– this might be yourself, someone in an existing litter picking group or someone in a community organisation.

Deadline: Sunday 17th July

* If you don’t quite meet the criteria for applying, but would like help and support setting up your group, feel free to fill out the form and there is a space for ‘other comments’
