Holly Winkler has enjoyed an international banking career that led to broad financial, risk, and governance experience. She is currently Head of Debt Investor Relations at UBS.
Aside from the environmental and economic effects of littering, she is keenly aware of the positive social impact of gathering together and taking pride in keeping our country clean. Having grown up in a disadvantaged community, she witnessed the positive effects of a state-sponsored litter picking initiative on other elements of the village, such as a reduction in vandalism. These litter-picking groups clearly took pride in their work, and ensured that everything was clean of litter and debris both in the village and surrounding roads or paths, along with gently encouraging youths to follow their good example and get engaged. Armed with this personal experience, Holly hopes to use her role as Trustee to help promote the benefits of litter-picking within communities in the UK today, as well as countering the greater ecological impacts from litter and the associated loss of materials that could be reused or recycled.
