A team from Schneider Electric collected enormous amounts of litter as part of their annual volunteering day. They focused their efforts along the river Aire in South East Leeds and some of the roads nearby making a huge difference to the local environment.

A team of paddle boarders cleaned up from the river Aire from Leeds Dock downstream to Old Mill Lane with support from six people on the bank. Some items, too big to bag up, were pulled out including a car wheel and a bicycle !

A mile stretch along the river Aire in the Leeds ward of Hunslet and Riverside. There were 100s of plastic bottles and lots of polystyrene amongst the litter left as the river receded.

River born litter that had been left on the bank after the swollen Aire returned to more normal levels. It was easy to fill one bag with plastic bottles, polystyrene and a few cans. One can was a spray paint aerosol, probably discarded by a thoughtless graffiti artist.
