CleanupUK Nominated for Third Sector Business Charity Award for ‘The Big Barratt Cleanup’

We’re delighted to share that CleanupUK has been nominated for a Third Sector Business Charity Award for our collaboration with The Barratt Foundation on The Big Barratt Cleanup—a nationwide volunteering campaign that tackled litter and brought communities together.

Launched in April 2024, The Big Barratt Cleanup saw an incredible response from Barratt Developments employees across the UK. Over just two weeks, 432 volunteers from 28 out of 32 divisions took part in local litter-picking events, collecting a total of 510 bags of rubbish—amounting to 2.7 tons of waste. 
The impact went far beyond tidier streets. Volunteers reported stronger teamwork, a greater sense of well-being, and a real feeling of pride in helping their communities.

A full 100% of participants said they would do it again, with 98% saying they’d recommend the experience to friends and family. 

This campaign reflects the Barratt Foundation’s growing commitment to social responsibility, with employee involvement in charitable giving increasing by 97% year-on-year since 2021.
