We celebrated International Women’s Day today at our Hilly Fields Litter Picking today. We have so many amazing women who are phenomenal local heroes and inspirational leaders who dedicate their time to making our community cleaner. To show them how much we appreciate them we gave them daffodils. After two below zero picks, today we were rewarded with a sunshine filled community pick! On this our last pick before we celebrate 5 years together. 25 Earth Angels came together and collected 17 bags of rubbish from the local area, a clock, BBQ and dumped wood. If you would like to join our team of inspirational females (males and dogs) or would like to start your own group please do get in touch. We are always looking for new friends. 🙏🏻💚

12 January 2025

Welcome to 2025!! A huge thank you to all (15 adults, 8 children and 2 dogs) of you who braved the beautiful but absolutely freezing conditions to collect 18 sacks of rubbish (where does it all come from?) from Hilly Fields and the surrounding streets. On top of this 7 further sacks and dumped items were collected by our Carole and Gill on Lancaster Road. Some of the dumped items have been returned to the relevant resident on Lancaster Road. The level of dumping and litter is rising so rapidly that we have requested, via our Ward Councillors, a meeting with Enfield Council. The Council cannot continue like this. Something needs to be done to; Educate new members of the community who do not yet know we do not tolerate dumping and throwing litter. Reviewing number of bins in the streets. Reviewing residential rubbish collections. How to stop dumping. It is not right or fair for residents and the Council to rely on these volunteers to pick up other peoples immoral behaviours.
