Helpful Information
Every year, millions of tons of litter end up in our waterways. Most of it comes from land – blown by wind, washed by rain, or left behind by careless hands. Once in the water, this trash:
- Harms marine animals (turtles, fish, birds and more)
- Pollutes drinking water sources
- Breaks down into microplastics that enter the food chain
- Destroys habitats and natural beauty
- We all depend on water. It’s time to protect it.
