Today we celebrated all the men in our wonderful community group who do their bit to make Mother Earth cleaner. We are all so grateful for these wonderful men who are our local heroes and inspire not only their children but all children in the group to be upstanding citizens. Today we may have only had 15 attendees but they cleared 18 bags of rubbish. Not only did this include clearing the last of the dumping we cleared last month but also cleaning up a large collection of jewellery, bank card and matching number plates! Police have been informed. If you who would like to join one of our groups and become a local hero please do PM me. We now run the Lancaster Road Neighbourhood, Enfield litter pick too! 🙏

Well to say that even by our standard this was the most muscle needed excavation of dumping we have had in six years. Whilst nearly 30 wonderful humans collected a TV, a chair, canisters and 22 sacks of litter four of us ladies and two small people did this! Some absolutely horrific, yet seemingly super strong human hurled 15 sacks of breeze blocks into the undergrowth on Cooks Hole Road here at Hilly Fields in Enfield. The second and third photos showed the effort and pure determination it took to clear the dumped vegetation and Christmas tree to allow us to drag out dumped items. It took us nearly half an hour to do it but we did it! I am personally against the installation of CCTV everywhere as it feels like 1984 but this road is constantly used as a fly tipping location. Residents live in the road and children and dogs use it daily. It seems the only answer is for Enfield Council to install a camera to catch the culprits. At the very least if anyone who reads this message dumps and flytips please can I request that you leave your items on the roadside so that it makes it’s easier for those who are cleaning up after your abhorrent behaviour. The biggest of thank yous to those who attended today. You are all utterly amazing! If you would like to join our team of another Earth saving, community enhancing superheroes we would love to have you on board. Did you know that I also coordinate Scouting Associations, school, Friends of Enfield Parks, and Duke of Edinburgh litter picks. If you would like to start your own group/ event please do ask as we have equipment you can borrow and knowledge you can have. 🙏 💚

Hip, hip, hoorah we turned 6 today!! Hilly Fields Community Litter Picking Group in Enfield have collected a phenomenal 3585 sacks of rubbish since we launched it April 2019. That’s not including the dumping of building materials, hundreds of nitrous gas canisters, bikes, trolleys, aquariums and even a fox’s skull we have collected. As well as EN2 being a much cleaner environment, we have saved Enfield Council thousands of pounds in staff cost, inspired 4 further groups and provide equipment for other groups. We have supported 15 Duke of Edinburgh candidates, local primary schools and the Scouting Association in undertaking awards. Most importantly we have made new friends, created support mechanisms for our community and increased civic pride amongst our younger Earth Angels. Thank you to The Rose and Crown, EN2 9AJ, A&R Designs, CleanupUK and our special Council men who provide so much support and love to us. A personal thank you to each and every one of our volunteers. They work tirelessly to support me to do our bit in the fight against council policies that are not working and amongst members of society who do not understand why putting their rubbish in a bin is so important. You are all inspirational. We are always looking for new friends, so if you would like to change the world please do PM me. 💚🙏🌍 Ps two visitors from Newcastle and one from Tunbridge Wells!

We celebrated International Women’s Day today at our Hilly Fields Litter Picking today. We have so many amazing women who are phenomenal local heroes and inspirational leaders who dedicate their time to making our community cleaner. To show them how much we appreciate them we gave them daffodils. After two below zero picks, today we were rewarded with a sunshine filled community pick! On this our last pick before we celebrate 5 years together. 25 Earth Angels came together and collected 17 bags of rubbish from the local area, a clock, BBQ and dumped wood. If you would like to join our team of inspirational females (males and dogs) or would like to start your own group please do get in touch. We are always looking for new friends. 🙏🏻💚
