On top of the bags and huge high five to the five kids who dragged concrete blocks, poles, fire extinguishers and a kitchen work too out of the bushes!! So proud of you all. Here in Enfield (North London) we celebrated our Christmas litter pick with two extra special guests. Father Christmas came along for the sixth year to hand out presents and praise our phenomenal volunteers for all that they do to make Enfield cleaner, safer and generally just nicer. We also had a visit from Rick Jewell, who is not only Lead Councillor for Waste but also a litter picker himself. We are incredibly lucky to have a born and bread local boy oh genuinely cares about our borough and residents and does everything he can on the ground to make a real difference. Every year I say it but our volunteers are more than Earth Angels, they are inspirational local heroes, who are loving and supportive to each other. They not only change the local area they change lives. I started the group nearly 7 years ago never in that time did I think that; 3975 sacks of rubbish would be collected. Untold dumped items cleared. Schools, Scouting, PTA, Residents Associations and Friends of Parks groups ask me to support their litter picks. 10 Duke of Edinburgh award completed with us. Meeting Mayor of Enfield and Cllr Jewell to agree an action plan to decrease litter and increase litter picking in Enfield. There really are no words for the gratitude needed for these amazing volunteers. You are all our heroes. With the biggest of thank yous to The Rose and Crown, EN2 9AJ, Enfield Town FC Allison Paing at A&R Designs for all of your support. I could not do it without you! If you would like to join us we normally meet second Sunday of the month at Cooks Hole Road at 9.30am. We are always looking for new friends. Wishing you all a cleaner and most wonderful Christmas and 2026. 🙏❤️
