A concentrated pick today on a small patch of grass near the historic martello tower. this area, that has two picnic tables and another bench. There are two season waste wheelie bins and also two permanent council bins. Despite this i picked over 350 cigarette butts . This count is going towards the clacton Blitz the butt campaign count.

Today was a busy day at the beach with the ganesh festival and also the social media influencer Spud Man with a three hour queues on the pier.
There was a vast array of litter today. a ton of cable ties, abandoned bottles of water, plates, spoons, napkins, rope , cord, shoes, beach toys, nets from beach toys and also sadly oil / tar found in various sites along the beach . this has been reported to the environment agency.
we were there from 12 until around 6.

Susan and Ellie from TPRS joined the clacton volunteer litter pickers at an earlier than usual time to try to encourage ore participation. The queue for the Spud Man was phenomenal! it was an extremely windy day. we had three young volunteers ask to join us whilst we were picking on the beach. Luckily I usually carry spare kit .
