Burnham-on-Sea and Highbridge Town Council would like to extend its sincere thanks to all the volunteers who took part in the community litter pick held in Burnham-on-Sea on Friday 19th June.
The volunteers generously gave their time to help keep the town clean, safe and welcoming for everyone, working together to collect a significant amount of litter and making an immediate positive impact on the local environment.
Following the litter pick, volunteers were invited to enjoy refreshments, providing a well-earned opportunity to relax, connect with fellow participants and reflect on the success of the clean-up effort.
Councillor Mike Facey, Mayor for Burnham-on-Sea and Highbridge, said:
"We are incredibly grateful to everyone who took part in the litter pick. The enthusiasm and dedication shown by our community is truly inspiring. Events like this make a real difference and help ensure Burnham-on-Sea remains a place we can all be proud of."

On June 15, Grove Park Road and its surroundings in Weston-super-Mare were cleaned. The cleaning, which began at 5:00 PM, ended at 6:15 PM. Litter picking activities will continue in the coming days.

🚯Turn the Tide Portishead🚯
We had a fantastic day at Portishead Carnival yesterday! We had teams following the parade litter picking, as well as on our stand within the show field litter picking around the field. The vast majority of people picked up their rubbish, and used the recycling and general waste bins provided. 👏🏼
We’d like to say thank you to everyone that bought a raffle ticket yesterday, which helps us fund our litter picking stations throughout Portishead - we’ll be contacting the winner soon! Another thank you to Lloyd, who last year donated a gazebo to us for our events, as it was used for much needed shade yesterday.
A final thank you to the amazing Portishead carnival committee that ensure the Carnival runs smoothly and brings everyone together. 💞💚
